The Toronto Police Service is advising of new arrests made in connection with protests against an encampment clearing on July 21, 2021.

On July 21, 2021, the Toronto Police Service supported the City of Toronto as staff attempted to work with those living in an encampment at Lamport Stadium to move to alternative accommodation.

On Thursday, September 16, 2021, 2021, Richard Kitching, 62, of Toronto, was arrested. He was charged with:

1. Assault Peace Officer With A Weapon
2. Possession of a Weapon


On Thursday, September 16, 2021, 2021, a woman was arrested. Police had reasonable grounds to believe she was wanted for:

1. Assault Police with a Weapon
2. Weapons Dangerous

Further investigation revealed that the woman arrested was not the wanted person. She was released with no charges.


On Thursday, September 23, 2021, Ashokraj Nithiananthan, 32, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Unlawful Assembly
2. Assault with a Weapon
3. Possession of Weapon Dangerous Public Peace
4. Common Nuisance

On Thursday, September 23, 2021, Jazzy Kieser, 28, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Assault Peace Officer
2. Obstruct Peace Officer
